My sister Sara was asking me for help in creating her own blog. She’s been reading a lot of other people’s blogs and she thinks it would be fun to do her own, too. She wants to use her blog to put her short stories and poems on. So I told her that if she would come over tomorrow I’ll help her to buy a domain name that is to her liking. I’m not sure what domain name she is going to want.
After we get her domain name bought, we are going to try to set up a hosting account with a green web hosting company. According to the webhostinggeeks.com website, there are several web hosting companies that are making an active attempt to reduce their carbon footprint, and give back to the environment. I’m sure that Sara would like to do business with one of them; she is always lecturing me about making sure that I am not polluting, and am recycling.
One of the things I like about their website is that you can count on them to give good reviews and ratings of the many different web hosting companies. And I like the fact that they have a really informative blog, too.

Last May I sent out two packages certified mail, return receipt requested. That means that the person that I’m sending the package to is supposed to sign a card that says that it was received, and then the Post Office is supposed to return it to me. One of the packages went to New York, and the return card was signed on May 20, and I received the return card a few days later.
The second package was sent to Houston Texas. Last May mind you. It is now late July. What was in that package was a garment that needed to be altered. I have already received the altered garment back (and it’s fine thank you.) Yesterday I finally received that card from the Post Office telling me that the package had been delivered to Texas, but no one had signed or dated it! What’s up with that?

In this ever-growing world of technology, people are going to need to learn more than your basic math skills. The business world is getting more complicated, and the employers are expecting their employees to come to them with a good solid education. It’s getting so that it is hard to get even a basic job with only a high school diploma. Largely, I think, because the public schools are not doing their jobs in preparing the children for employment.
Having said that, I think that many schools are trying. My friends have been telling me that their kids have been coming home from school in fourth grade asking them for algebra help on their math homework. Many of my friends have forgotten how to do it, or never learned it in the first place! So there seems to be a growing need for algebra tutoring services. Not every parent is able to help their kids with these kinds of problems! So I think that it’s great that people can access an online algebra tutor and get both algebra 1 and algebra 2 help for free.

My wife keeps telling me that she would like to take a vacation this fall. She doesn’t want to go too far away, someplace close enough to drive would be fine with her. With the price of airfare, and the worsening customer service and long lines at security, a place close enough to drive to sounds good to me! She’s thinking about making a reservation at one of the nicer Myrtle Beach Hotels for a long weekend. There are a lot of Myrtle Beach Accomodations to choose from, and there is a lot more to do at Myrtle Beach than just play golf.
I was looking at the website my wife showed me about the Myrtle Beach Accomodation she is interested in – The Myrtle Beach Horizon. The pictures of the suites looked very enticing, and the activities it listed, such as the Fish and Chips cruise and the Freestyle Music Park sounded like a lot of fun! And going to the Dixie Stampede and the Legends in Concert shows would be a blast. Maybe I’d like to stretch it out to a whole week, and not just a week-end!

My wife showed me an error at Amazon.com the other day. A book listed for sale that should be listed for about $10 is listed for $100! You can buy that book brand spanking new on other websites for under $10. We tried to find some way to contact Amazon.com to tell them that they should fix that error – no one is going to buy that book at $90 more than it is worth! But we could not find any way at all to contact them to notify them of their error! If you know of a way to contact them, let me know!
