I was not very happy last night when I went out to the garage to make sure that it was all locked up for the night and discovered that the big door was wide open. It seems that every time I go out there I find the big door wide open! So I went ahead and closed it (it is electric and it only required a touch on the keypad beside the door.) When the door started to close I saw a skunk scurry out from underneath my truck! Yikes!

You better believe I opened the door again and dashed back in the house as quick as could be! I sure am hoping that the skunk vacates the garage and doesn’t decide that this is a good hibernation spot! I don’t want to have to be dealing with trying to convince the skunk to leave!  And I don’t want to have to deal with the dogs finding the skunk and getting sprayed!

Have you noticed that more and more businesses are placing televisions at strategic places?  I certainly know that there have been a lot of times that I’ve had to wait for some reason, such as in a hospital’s emergency room, a doctor’s office, or even in line at a store and been bored out of my mind!  That is where Commercial Direct TV saves the day!

Instead of fuming about how much of my time is being wasted, I find myself watching the Direct TV Business programming on the television set that is there.  I’ve even noticed that there is Direct TV for Business programming on television sets in several of the fast food restaurants playground areas!  I think that it is a very smart move on the business’s part to provide this kind of distraction for the customers.  The customers are much less likely to become irritated at the amount of time they are waiting if they have something like Directv Business to passively entertain them.

I’ve noticed that whenever we have company that nobody but me seems to know how to turn off the lights and televisions! I will frequently walk from one room in the house down the hallway and walk past empty rooms that have all the lights on and televisions turned on. I go inside the room and turn off everything. I’ll notice that everyone in the house is busy in another room and does not appear to have any intention of returning to the rooms any time soon! I think I’m going to have to have a little chat with everyone in the house!

I used to try to plant a garden of vegetables.  I tried that for a couple of years. I tilled about a quarter acre of land out behind the house and planted peas, corn, snap beans, lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers, squash, and broccoli.  I had visions of enjoying fresh produce at the table and saving a lot of money.

Well, it seemed that the neighborhood rabbits, deer, and raccoons, as well as the turtles and slugs really enjoyed my efforts.  We managed to harvest only about 5% of what I planted!  So I eventually gave up, realizing that I was better off just buying my produce!

But the gardening bug had bit me, so I turned my attention to flower gardening.  But I decided to use my head and invest a lot of my efforts into container gardening.  I reasoned that it may be easier to use containers than to till and weed the ground.  So I use a lot of Planters in my garden plans.  I like to use Garden Planters because I can move the tender plants indoors if the weather becomes too cold for them to survive.  And it makes invasive plants easier to control!  I also like to plan where to place each Decorative Planter  to make the garden more visually interesting.

I can remember learning in college that prices of things were largely due to supply and demand, and competition. In this crazy economy, prices just are not making a lot of sense. For example, when there are a lot of people flying places the prices go up because the demand is high. So the airlines, for example, raise their prices during holiday travel time because the demand is high.

And yet, I heard on the news this week that the airlines are struggling because demand is lower because fewer people are flying. And because of that they are raising their prices again. That just does not make a whole lot of sense to me. If people are not flying because it is too expensive, then raising the prices is not going to fix that problem, is it?
