Keeping up with the latest

My sister in law Liz likes to use the Front Page software to design her web pages.  She’s made some really great looking web pages!  She was telling me recently that she was reading an blog about Front page hosting and other web hosting news that she thought I might want to read.

 

To be honest, I’d really prefer to just let her take care of that end of the process.  I enjoy blogging, but am not into web page design per se.  I’m really happy with the WordPress blogging, and if I ever need anything more complicated I’ll just let Liz take care of it for me.  I’m sure she’d be more than happy to barter services with me.  That’s one of the good things about having such a diverse family – we have our own set of skills that we can use to help each other out.  Much better than a family that all is in the same one business, where we only focus on one thing!

Nice surprise

I was surprised to find my state income tax refund already deposited in my checking account this morning!  That was really fast!  I just wish that the federal tax refund would arrive that fast too!  I’ve never been very good at waiting for my money to come in!  I want instant gratification!  Come on refund check!  I’m anxiously awaiting your arrival!

April 15th

April 15th is only a few days away. I’m glad that I got my taxes done and over with before the mad rush this year. I’m running into a good amount of people that are having to pay the I.R.S. this year and they are not anxious to hand over their hard earned cash any sooner than they need to; so they are waiting until the 15th to send Uncle Sam his check.

 

I have one friend that is going to have to take out a personal loan in order to pay his taxes this year; that would have to be really hard to do! There have been several tax credits put into place recently but I’m not hearing of that many people that are being able to take advantage of any of them. I am glad to hear that the Home Buyers Tax Credit has been extended; that is one thing that the Federal Government has taken action on that makes sense and is actually working well.

 

I’d hate to work at the Post Office on April 15th; it is a mad house that day. Even with more and more people e-filing the Post Office still pulls a huge amount of us in each year and some even stay open late that night for better customer service.

Harvesting Gardens

I enjoy eating fruits and vegetables. This time of the year people are busy with outside yard work and the planting of their gardens. I always look forward to reaping the benefits of their labor when they find that they have harvested more than they can use and they start handing out their produce to friends, family, neighbors and co workers. I always have plenty of tomatoes during the summer and fall!

Gold, It’s All Good

I’m the first to admit that I don’t know that much about gold or bullion. But I am learning a bit about it from a co worker of mine that has taken a sudden interest in how to buy gold bullion. We have all heard that gold is a great investment and how the price of gold has been increasing. We are being bombarded with advertisements urging us to sell our old, unused and unwanted gold for top dollar prices. It is a big thriving business these days and a lot of people are turning to these places in an effort to get some extra cash to help pay the credit card bills that are making life so difficult in this screwed up economy that we have found ourselves right in the middle of.

 

Anyway this guy is learning how to buy bullion and gold coins and has been utilizing the website of goldcoinsgain.com. Since we have Internet access at work we get to go online throughout the day and since we are all jammed in there so close to each other it’s hard to keep anything to yourself and we usually share what we find with each other anyway. We spend so much time together, it’s a good thing that we get along as well as we do and have so many common interests and right now it seems to be gold bullion that has got us interested and finding ourselves learning about.
