From what I can tell, the sales of acne medicine is a big money maker! I’m glad that our kids have outgrown that stage in adolescence where they were trying every over-the-counter product on the market to control their complexion problems! I’m just sorry that we didn’t find out about how well common toothpaste does in controlling break-outs! It was only a couple of years ago when my wife heard about it, and tried it. Now she recommends it to anyone who will listen!

Summer is one of the more seasons for my wife to get through. She has had problems with varicose veins for as long as I can remember, and she has to wear heavy compression hosiery all of the time. The doctors say she is not a good candidate for surgery, so it is something we just try to live with. She tells me that wearing them is like wearing thermal underwear. With the weather reaching the 90′s almost every day this week, I can only imagine hot uncomfortable she must be when she has to leave the air conditioned house! One thing is for sure, I’m really glad we live in the age where interior climate control is available!

My wife and I are talking about putting in a half-bath in the basement. We’re thinking about installing a wall-mounted Saniflo toilet with a macerator pump system. From what I’ve been reading, a macerator pump from Saniflo will pump the sewage up to twelve feet high to the sewer line. That sounds like a pretty strong pump to me! I don’t want to have any problems with trying to pump the sewage out of the house, so the pump is very important.

Last week I received an email notice from Discover that I was nearing my pre-set spending limit. I was quite surprised because I had just paid off the card and had not used it since I paid it off! So I went online and looked at my recent activity. There were a lot of fraudulent charges on my account – some to Microsoft X-Box and some to Apple Ipod! I immediately called Discover and reported the unauthorized charges. They immediately closed my account and sent me a new card. The new card arrived in less than a week. I have to admit that it was a hassle notifying the different companies that bill my monthly charges to that account, but all in all it was a fairly painless process. Thankfully I’m not responsible for those fraudulent charges so I’m happy about that. Isn’t it nice when a credit card company does somethng good?!
