I don’t usually get the opportunity to watch the many daytime TV Judge shows, but once in a while I’ll catch a moment or two. I have to tell you that I don’t understand why anyone would consent to go up in front of Judge Judy. That’s just asking for trouble, and on national TV mind you.
There is something about the look of a home that has nice garden window boxes. This is the time of the year that a good amount of home gardens are really starting to produce. Imagine being able to open your window and pick a fruit or a vegetable right then and there. Maybe one day I’ll tackle that feet, for now the small garden that I have in the back yard will have to do. Gardens are a lot of work, but worth the effort in the long run.
This is the time of year that people are turning others on to their abundance of their harvest. Friends, neighbors, family and co workers are busy handing out freebies from their home gardens. Gotta love that!
My mother always had nice, tastefully kept window flower boxes in the house that we grew up in. The neighbors were always impressed and so very envious of her green thumb that she so proudly displayed in her window boxes each year.
I’ve had a few ideas and a few invites for the 3 day weekend that Labor Day brings most of us each year. The weather is an issue, since Earl is causing so much trouble and the other two hurricanes that are close on his heal are making it rough to plan anything.
It’s too bad that times have made it so hard for so many people to provide a roof over their heads. We are still seeing way too many For Sale and Foreclosure signs in front of the houses around the neighborhood. My sister, who lives around the Nashville TN area was just telling me that they now have a “tent city” in that area that is holding over two hundreds tents of homeless people. That is just disturbing.
I need to find a roommate is becoming greater for a lot of folks. Having one or more roommates can reduce the cost of the mortgage or a rent payment. The room rental section on the Internet and the newspapers is growing larger and larger each month. I imagine having Internet access would be a great tool for a roommate search. But word of mouth can be valuable as well, a more up close and personal way to find a room mate.
