Uncle Claude

My Uncle Claude has been a “snowbird” for as long as I have known him. He and my Aunt Julie used to live up here in the spring, summer and fall, but when it got cold and icy, they headed for Arizona. Uncle Claude would always say that his arthritis and gout were acting up right around Columbus Day in October, and by the first of November every year they were gone until Spring.

Now that Aunt Julie has passed away, Uncle Claude went on down to Arizona again last year, but this time he hasn’t come back north. Told us that he’s going to stay there and see how the summer goes. He bought a house and has been searching online for home security tolleson so that in case he wants to come up here for a week or two he doesn’t have to worry about anyone breaking into his house.

I told him to search online for some Direct TV Deals, too. As much as he likes sports, there are some great packages for pro games that he will surely like. Unless he is too busy playing golf himself, I know he’d like to watch some of the tournaments as well as all the baseball games this summer.

Directories

I can remember as a young child sitting on old copies of the area’s Yellow Pages phone directory when I went to my grandparents for the weekend.  They didn’t think that they had any need for a booster seat when that big ol’ book would work just fine!  That big ol’ book had so much tomato soup spilled on it that the pages were starting to turn pinkI think that it is absolutely amazing how big those directories to large cities are!

I love how resourceful various directories can be.  When my children were small, we used a Health Directory to guide us into finding the right pediatrician to use.  When my wife and I were looking for some kind of exercise classes we could both take together, a Fitness Directory helped us find a local gym that we could join together.  I think that having a Health and Wellness Directory Internet website is a great resource to use to help find the perfect health-related service that you need.  And having it on the Internet protects it from spilled tomato soup!

Rewards

Do you have a Staples Rewards card?  I’ve had one for years, and I’m glad that I do.  I usually only shop the big sales at Staples, and I return my used ink cartridges there to get Rewards credit.  I always give the Rewards card to the cashier to scan, or tell the cashier my phone number so they can give me credit.  Every now and then I get a Rewards certificate (it used to come in the mail, but now it is online.)

My most recent Rewards certificate was just almost enough to buy a new paper shredder that happened to be on sale.  And it was perfect timing because I had just accidentally broken my old shredder!  I bought the extended warranty (I love those!) and brought the new shredder home.  Don’t you just LOVE Rewards!

Does it work?

My boss told me that he was thinking about hiring a company to help the company with their SEO efforts.  He asked me to do some research on a company called Rank Pay that he heard about.  He said that he heard that they are supposed to do a good job of improving the page rank of a company’s website.  So I took a few minutes and read a few rank pay reviews and told him that I think that there just might be some better options out there for our company, and we should keep looking at other options.

Pocket sized

I was reading through some reviews on dlp lcd projectors when I came across a review for a pocket size pass – through projector that struck my fancy.  The little guy literally can fit in a pocket but can be used to project images up to 50″ wide!  These things even have speakers built into them!  Can you imagine being a traveling salesman and pulling a projector out of your pocket to help with a presentation?  What a hoot!
