There was a nationwide recall of garlic bread in Australia, including the garlic bread sold by Domino’s Pizza. The recall happened because the bread turned blue when it was baked. The company that makes the garlic bread says that they don’t believe that the bread is a health hazard, but recalled it anyway. They have no explanation as to why it turns blue, they think it has something to do with the type of garlic that they used for this particular batch. I don’t think that makes a lot of sense, I’ve never heard of garlic turning blue when it is baked – and if there WAS a garlic that turns blue when baked it seems to me that would be widely known in the culinary arts industry to begin with. I think it sounds fishy to me!
