Weight loss shots

Posted on September 2nd, 2010 by Jerry under Computers and/or Internet, Education and Personal Growth, Health, Life.

Have you heard about HCG for weight loss? I never had until I saw an advertisement for HCG shots Austin on another blogger’s website. I started to read about HCG, to find out what it is. Apparently it is a human hormone that is produced during pregnancy.  I don’t know if I would even be willing to try something like that to lose weight.  What do you think?  Would you?

A little help

Posted on August 26th, 2010 by Jerry under Computers and/or Internet, Education and Personal Growth, Life, Technology and gadgets.

Pre Algebra was a fun class for me to take when I was in school.  I was blessed with the ability to grasp the concepts behind Algebra equations and  fractions.  I do give all of the credit, though, to Miss Beck, our math teacher.  She used really fun real-life examples whenever possible to demonstrate the reasons we needed to learn these things.  I can remember when she brought in a large sheet cake to demonstrate how to divide.  We all had cake to eat at the end of class!

Not everyone can have a math teacher as wonderful as Miss Beck, however. That’s why it is a great help to be able to find tutoring services over the Internet.  You can easily go online at your own convenience and find the help you need on whatever math subject you are struggling with.  Obviously that’s not as much fun as having Miss Beck serve up cake at the end of class, but some things just can’t be helped!

Today’s Online Tutoring

Posted on August 21st, 2010 by Jerry under Computers and/or Internet, Education and Personal Growth, Friends/Family, Technology and gadgets.

Today’s students are at such an advantage with all that the World Wide Web has to offer them in their educations. I can’t even imagine how my education would have turned if we had had access to the Internet. They now even have Online tutoring for just about ever subject one could need. I certainly could have used some Free math tutoring online back in High School. Math and I just really never hit it off. I don’t know what I’d do with out my calculator that I always have close at hand when ever numbers are being crunched.

I had to rely on my brothers and sisters for help and that didn’t always work out so grand. And I do remember that I did spend a good amount of time staying after school for additional help. My mother did manage to find a nice neighbor that would come over once in a while a lend a hand with some Statistics help, but nothing like jumping online and getting help when ever you need it when it comes to hard core Math answers.

Computer Issues

Posted on August 18th, 2010 by Jerry under Business, Computers and/or Internet, Opinion, Technology and gadgets.

If you ask the normal person about the majority of computer questions, like what is colocation or managed hosting, I do believe that most wouldn’t have a clue as to what you are referring to. Those of us who work on computers for a living have access to some type of IT support that know all that there is to know about the workings of computers inside and out.

I’d like to believe that most of us know a bit about web hosting. There are a good amount of web hosting available. And I’m glad to hear that several are doing what they can in order to become as green as possible. So if you are looking into web hosting I would encourage you to check out the different options out there. The Internet is a great tool to find the perfect match for you.

Be nice to your IT they are important people, too bad you can’t take them home with you.

Drafting

Posted on August 14th, 2010 by Jerry under Business, Computers and/or Internet, Education and Personal Growth, Friends/Family, Life, Technology and gadgets.

My wife has been talking about taking a course in cad drawing.  She spent a large part of her adult life drafting work orders for the telephone company and she really enjoyed doing that type of work.  And she says that she would really like to do that type of work again.  But most of the job wanted ads for that type of work indicate that the succesful candidate will have experience in cad.

A Greener Ceiling Fan

Posted on August 14th, 2010 by Jerry under Business, Computers and/or Internet, Home and garden, Life, Money and Finances, Opinion, Shopping, Technology and gadgets.

The house that I grew up in had Ceiling Fans in just about every room. My mother insisted that my father install them in each bedroom, the dining room, the kitchen, the den and the living room when they first purchased and moved in the place back in the 60′s. When I moved out of my parents house and went out on my own I didn’t consider that I’d be sleeping in a room without the circulation that I’d grown accustomed to all of my life. A Ceiling Fan makes a big difference in my night’s sleep. Not only is the circulation important, but the cool breeze and the slight white noise that it provides is all included in my total “sleep package” if you will. If I plan on sleeping away from home I certainly can’t be toting a Ceiling Fan around with me but I do take a good sized box fan that seems to do the trick most of the time.

The Ceiling Fan that is currently in my master bedroom has been making some pretty freaky noises the past couple of weeks, I just keep forgetting about it during the day and by the time I hear the darn thing, I’m ready for bed and keep putting it off time and time again. So today I’m spending a bit of time online and am researching different types of Ceiling Fans and I think I’ve found the perfect one at the Hansen Wholesale Ceiling Fans website of hansenwholesale.com. They have a decent selection of Eco Fans in an effort to offer green products in today’s every growing greener demanding consumers. Right now with the promo code of Promo Code: N932502530 they will pay the tax on your order, plus they offer free shipping.

It’s All Out There For Us

Posted on August 12th, 2010 by Jerry under Business, Computers and/or Internet, Education and Personal Growth, Health, Life, Money and Finances, News, Opinion, Politics, Technology and gadgets.

All the information is there to see at http://www.oas.samhsa.gov/ where all the Substance Abuse and Mental Health statistics that are showing us that there is a rise for the need of good drug rehabilitation programs. Of course there are various and numerous reasons that factor the increased need for addiction treatment centers. I do believe that this totally messed up economy is making us all crazy. It’s taking it’s toll on the general public, most of which see no indication of any type of light at the end of any tunnel that is going to pull us out of this crisis, no wonder we are getting addiction issues that are spiraling out of control.

It’s good to know that more attention is being paid to substance and mental health issues. There are some nice drug rehab centers and alcohol rehab centers to be found online. Using the Internet makes choosing the right treatment plans a much easier task to take on. There is a lot of information out there, and it does take time to weed through a ton of irrelevant pages and such nonsense, but it still is a valuable tool and should be utilized for all that it’s worth when you can. Can’t imagine life without Internet access all though I know that there is still a huge population that doesn’t have access for one reason or another. I do know that Bill Gates is doing an awesome job in helping folks hop on to the World Wide Web with all of his donations of computers and supplies.

Planning ahead

Posted on August 8th, 2010 by Jerry under Computers and/or Internet, Entertainment and Fun, Friends/Family, Life, Opinion, Shopping.

This year we are planning to attend the Elk’s annual Halloween party.  We went last year and had a blast!  The only drawback was that the room was filled with cigarrette smoke, and that made us uncomfortable.  But this year we installed some air filters that will help to clean the air well enough that the smoke shouldn’t be quite so bad.  Personally I’d like to see the Elks mandate smoke-free events, but then the attendence would probably drop down drastically.  My wife thinks that more people would attend, but that doesn’t seem to be the opinion of the people who are in charge of parties!

Last year my wife wore a really sexy cop costume to the party.  She wore a body suit underneath, though, so as not to upset the older ladies!  This year she is planning to buy and wear a sexy pirate costume to the party.  She has quite a collection of sexy Halloween costumes to choose from over the many different Internet stores that sell costumes!

Personally, I like the costumes that my wife sews herself.  She is a very creative woman, and when she sews the costume herself she is guaranteed to show up at the party with a one-of-a-kind costume!  I can remember a few parties that we’ve gone to in the past where several women showed up wearing the same costume, and they were quite unhappy with that situation!

I am guessing that with the popularity of television shows that feature vampires, that there will be a huge “run” on vampire costumes this year.  Last year there were a lot of really fantastic looking vampire costumes at the party, but the costume that took the first prize in the costume contest was really rather disappointing to me – it was a guy dressed like a short-order cook.  I think politics were in play there; a lot of costumes were much better than that!

Tickets for Everyone

Posted on August 2nd, 2010 by Jerry under Business, Computers and/or Internet, Entertainment and Fun, Money and Finances, Opinion, Shopping, Technology and gadgets.

I’ve heard that getting concert and special event tickets are much easier today than back in the day that used to attend many of functions. The Internet has made this tedious and time consuming task a much easier one to tackle with sites like acheapseat.com around for today’s events. You can get WANG THEATRE TICKETS, or BOSTON OPERA HOUSE TICKETS or even the much sought after Air Canada Centre Tickets just by spending a few minutes on your computer and having your credit or debit card handy.

No more waiting until a certain time on a certain day manning the phones trying to get a ticket(s) for the event that you’ve been waiting so long to attend. I’ve even spent time in horrendously long and winding lines in order to get just any ticket I could get my hands on much less trying to get one of the best seats in the house. One thing that I’ve never done and I just can’t see me ever attempting to do is to camp out over night for a ticket. Now that is just crazy and there isn’t any type of performance or performer worth going through all of the hassle. Even if the Beatles were all still alive and were to put on a show, my butt sleeps in my nice soft warm bed every night, thank you very much!
