I’ve found myself in a boat with a ton of other people that have used their credit cards in order to survive through these tough economic times. Things aren’t getting any better for any of the people that I find myself surrounded by. If anything things are getting worse and worse. I know several people that have lost their homes and have had to move in with relatives. And I know way to many people that are out of work and can’t find any employment anywhere.

I’ve done the best that I can in managing my finances, but I’ve slipped up a few times and I’d like the chance to repair my bad credit. So I’ve done some research on my laptop and see that there is a company by the name of DSI Solutions that advertises to “Repair Your Bad Credit” and I’m thinking of contacting them and seeing what they can do for me and my financial situation. I’ve known folks that have used these online credit repair services and have heard good things about what they have done in the past. So what the heck, I’ll give it a go as well, it’s just gotta get better!

Last week I received an email notice from Discover that I was nearing my pre-set spending limit.  I was quite surprised because I had just paid off the card and had not used it since I paid it off!  So I went online and looked at my recent activity.  There were a lot of fraudulent charges on my account – some to Microsoft X-Box and some to Apple Ipod!  I immediately called Discover and reported the unauthorized charges.  They immediately closed my account and sent me a new card.  The new card arrived in less than a week.  I have to admit that it was a hassle notifying the different companies that bill my monthly charges to that account, but all in all it was a fairly painless process.  Thankfully I’m not responsible for those fraudulent charges so I’m happy about that.  Isn’t it nice when a credit card company does somethng good?!

I can remember the day my wife came home from one of her business classes and told me that she had just learned that only the wealthiest 2% of Americans owned any stock at all.  Can you imagine that 98% of us Americans don’t own any stock, and that owning stock (or not) is one of the measures of wealth (or lack thereof) in the social services offices as ways to determine if you are poor enough to receive food stamps?

It was right about that same time that my wife decided to take a closer look at Online Trading.  Up until that point she had purchased a couple of IRA Accounts and was Stock Trading with a broker that had been a friend of her ex-husband’s.  She decided that it was time to take advantage of the financial benefits of instant trading and low cost trading fees.  She was pretty tired of having to chase down her brick and mortar broker to buy or sell stock.

Jim is a guy who has to keep up with the Jones’s at all times. I can remember when he first bought his laptop computer. He plugged it in and let the cord drape across the room so that when his dog walked past the table, it pulled the laptop off the table. Yes, the laptop was totalled. No, he had not bought insurance on it. So when Jim told me that he wanted to buy an ipad, I told him that he’d best be paying for ipad insurance!
