While looking for a mobile broadband to sign up for my wife, I came across a blog that was featuring posts about data cards and USB Modems and mobile broadband in India. It looked like a very impressive collection of reviews. Reading those reviews, I became even more frustrated that it appears that there are a lot of good mobile broadband providers overseas, yet I am having trouble finding one over here!
In this great country of ours I fail to understand why we can’t get good service at a reasonable cost. If we are to remain competitive in this global economy, these kinds of services need to be affordable to more people. I can only hope that the prices of these services come down in the near future. These are important tools that we will need to survive.
I can’t imagine how school would have been for us if we had had access to the Internet. The Internet is a valuable tool for today’s educational needs. These days kids are learning and using their parents computers as young as 2 years old for goodness sake, it’s just amazing to me.
Having computers certainly would have helped me back in the day. The only way I managed to graduate was from a lot of help from tutors that my parents managed to find and pay for their assistance. They usually weren’t the kind of people that I would have liked to spend that amount of time with during what I considered my free time after school was over and done with, I can tell you that!
Today’s students can receive help with an Online Tutor, now how cool is that? My niece has been receiving Math help by Tutornext.com since her parents have been having issues with her school work this year. It’s pretty cool to have an Online Math Tutor to turn to. They seem pleased with the assistance that she is receiving so far. The school year is half way over, so if she can just keep on taking advantage of her Math Tutors Online she should make it all right. Next year she will be starting Junior High and that will be a whole new ball game for her. Man time really flies, hard to believe that this one will be starting Junior High all ready.
I Googled “PTFE Properties” and I came up with an interesting website. If you ever need to know or learn about FEP Tubing or heat shrink tubing I’ve got the place to go for the facts and can be found at Fluorotherm.com. It’s always nice to try and keep on all of the technology that is coming out these days.
One of my favorite TV Channels is the Discovery Channel. I always learn something when I tune in there. I really enjoy Myth Busters and am glad to see that it is popular enough to keep coming back each season. The History Channel is a keeper as well, thank goodness for satellite TV, which brings all these entertaining but educational shows to us.
I usually enjoy watching comedies, but a good comedy is rare to find these days so I’ve been turning to other channels lately in an effort to find something to watch. I hear that The Tonight Show is coming back, that’s good new. Bye Bye for now Conan………….
It seems that these days more men are being invited to baby showers. I don’t know about most guys, but they really are not something that I have much interest in. I’ve been dragged to a few in my time, but I don’t look forward to attending any more any time soon, if you know what I mean. The last one that the wife insisted I attend was decent enough, most of us guys that were in attendance stayed in the den with a football game on the nice big screen TV, with HD, that was on the whole time of the party. No one even noticed that we were gone, with all the game playing, picture taking and gift giving and unwrapping going on.
We did manage to provide the new mother with some nice gifts that the wife found online. We found jellycat products along with some wow toys, barefoot dreams, skip hop, envirosax, petunia pickle bottom, and appaman merchandise as well at loulouscorner.com. They are known for unique gifts, baby toys and designer baby clothes. Lou Lous Corner is an online speciality boutique that offers free shipping for orders $65 and over and has same day shipping for orders placed by 1pm EST. My wife discovered Lou Lous Corner a few years back and has used it many a times, so I thought I’d give a shout out about them for a change of pace in this mainly male dominated blog.
It is a shame that families are spread out so much in this day and age. Back in the day most folks stayed close, living either on the same street or at least in the same town or county and they all looked after each other the best that they could. My family has certainly spread out, but at least most are still in the U.S. and for the most part are on the east coast.
My oldest brother ended up in Tennessee with his wife and their kids. Tennessee is a beautiful state, we enjoy visiting them when we can and always enjoy the scenic drive up and back, as well. They seem to be doing well there, they have good jobs, a nice home and terrific kids. Of course there has to be at least one in bunch that makes life a challenge. In this case it would be their middle son.
This kid has had some issues with drug and alcohol, but they are doing what they can for him. In my brother’s last email, he informed us that they were checking into sending him into Tennessee Drug Rehab, sometime after the Christmas holidays are done and over with. Drug Detox isn’t something to play around with, so they want to make sure that the Residential Drug Rehab Center that they send him to will be a good and healthy environment that will help him through the whole Drug and Alcohol Rehab process.
The whole family is keeping them in their prayers. Drugs and Alcohol are bad news. The statistics on our teenagers and young adults that use drugs and alcohol are down right scary. We hope that my nephew will come out of treatment a much better person and live a long healthy and prosperous life.
