Reunions

I am hearing rumors that another high school reunion is in the makes. I have only attended one of my reunions and really don’t see the need to keep going back time and time again. But one of my closest friends, from school, is really excited about this next one and is insisting that I go with him. He is on the quiet side and doesn’t want to have to sit alone and by himself all night. I can understand that.

Grants, Scholarships and Educational Financial Aid Needs

Posted on October 31st, 2011 by Jerry under Education and Personal Growth, Friends/Family, Money and Finances, Opinion, Parenting, Technology and gadgets.

You never know what to expect to come out of your children’s mouth, no matter what age. While when they are just wee little kids those words can be totally embarrassing or exceptionally entertaining, it’s a toss of the coin. Now when they get older this infliction can and usually does boil down to the all mighty dollar and how they are going to spend yours.

Our youngest son has recently announced his sudden desire to further his education and become an engineer. This is something that he was totally against just two years ago. And guess who he is looking to for financial assistance, guess you don’t even need three guesses on that one. Now as much as I’d love to just fork over the big bucks that it will take for him to become this engineer, we are going to need to start looking for financial aid information, scholarships and grants for engineers to take care of as much of the cost as possible.

The Internet will come into play big time with this adventure. It really saved us a lot of time, hassle, work and guessing when we were researching physical therapy student grants for his sister a few years back. The wife is a whiz at this type of research and I’m hoping that she can work her magic and make this a reality for our family’s future civil engineer. Every family needs one!

Just Who Is This Melanie Collins

Posted on October 26th, 2011 by Jerry under Business, Computers and/or Internet, Education and Personal Growth, Entertainment and Fun, News, Opinion, Sports.

Melanie Collins seems to be popping up everywhere these days, so I decided to take a look on the Internet and find more out about her. She has her own blog that has some interesting stories and photos to share with her readers that I spent some time reading. I have to admit she is a hottie and is making big waves in today’s huge sports and entertainment news arena. I guess a hot looking blond would catch the attention of the many sports fans across the country.

Check out this pics that I found online of Ms. Melanie Collins who graduated from Penn State University in the year 2008.

She looks damned good in black leather, wouldn’t you agree?

EA Exams

I guess I have mixed emotions about my nephew deciding on taking the enrolled agent exam. Part of me thinks that he has decided to side with the “enemy” while the other part of me is grateful for the possibility of having someone in the family that will be working for the I.R.S.

Of course he still has to pass the enrolled agent examination before any of us gets to excited. It’s a good thing that there is an enrolled agent study guide available to him to utilize on the Internet. And I certainly wish him all the luck in the world in what ever he decides to take on, I’m sure he will put all that he has into what ever he gets himself into.

Rabbi Yitz Grossman

Posted on October 10th, 2011 by Jerry under Computers and/or Internet, Education and Personal Growth, Entertainment and Fun, Life, News, Opinion, Politics, Religion/Spirituality, Technology and gadgets.

I was told some time ago about a really cool website that I should check out at http://yitzgrossmanlawrence.com. Unfortunate for me I didn’t take quick action on it, but last night I had a few minutes to kill online and I’m glad that I did take the time to find it and see for myself. You see this is a site run and written by a rabbi by the name of Yitz Grossman and he has the most awesome posts written filled with not only love and compassion, but with a good amount of humor as well.

The first post that Yitz Grossman had on his page last night was about a women Irena Sendler who died in 2008 at the age of 98 and who did so much for the Jews in WWII and who was nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize. She was not selected although President Obama won the year before becoming President for his work as a community organizer for ACORN and Al Gore also won for a slide show on Global Warming. Both great causes, but nothing in comparison to what this woman had gone through and done for so many people during the time of the awful Nazis regime back then.

I have bookmarked this rabbi’s site and plan on going back and visiting from time to time and I would urge others to take a look-see around this wonderful site as well.
