Was watching a show last night that was all about catching people on video. The funniest one, that just had me rolling, was of a newly hired Preacher who had a church full of his Youth Group, along with their parents and other folks as well. It was a full house (church). I found the video on YouTube.com along with several other Preacher Bloopers and just had to share a couple with you.
After checking my email this morning, my browser defaulted to a webpage that featured a story about tiny hotel rooms, complete with photos. Some of the rooms were so tiny that I am sure that I would get claustrophobic trying to sleep in one! One featured platform beds in some renovated drain pipes. That’s a novel idea indeed, but it only had a bed in it! What about temperature control? One of the hotels was in an airport and had no bathroom, saying that the customer could use the restrooms in the airport. I guess those folks aren’t supposed to need a shower or bath! And I had heard about the Japanese hotels where the rooms are only slightly bigger than a casket; this article had photographs of the rooms. Those rooms put me in mind of a sleeping berth in a sleeper car in a train.
Well, those are all novel ideas, but I’ll tell you this – give me a standard hotel room, complete with fancy bedroom sets that include a dresser and night stands, and a real bathroom with a shower in it! When I travel, I need room to stretch, and I don’t want to have to wait in line with a with a bunch of strangers to use a bathroom in the middle of the night!
I did so enjoy watching all of the comedians that The Comedy Channel provided us with over the 4th of July holiday weekend. I find myself watching The Comedy Channel more and more these days, laughing is good for the soul and the body and it’s just plain good old fun.
I was hoping to take the family to see the town’s fireworks show for the 4th of July. But everyone was too tired from work to want to go! Everyone in the house was in bed before dark! We could hear the neighbors shooting off their illegal fireworks from about 10-11 pm, but after that the night was quiet. I think it’s rather sad that we all went to bed early; I can remember so many years of making a big deal outing of going out for the 4th of July. I hope next year we’ll all get back into the spirit of the Holiday and celebrate our Independence the right way, and not just fall into bed too tired to celebrate!
