Most folks lean towards buying their Valentine a nice box of chocolates or some special type of candies, while some folks are into jewelry or even a new vehicle. I don’t suppose there is a lot of that going around these year with the declining economy still taking it’s toll on the majority of us.
This year I am buying the wife a rain chain that she has been eyeballing ever since seeing the rain chains at her sister-in-law’s house over the summer. I have to admit that these chains rain are a nice concept. It is a well known fact that water is therapeutic, I’ve always enjoyed seeing, hearing, smelling as well as feeling water, so having a rain chain or two or three or however many you choose to have is a positive thing.
We have worked hard on our backyard to make it attractive and comfortable as possible and I think having a good looking quality rain chain would be a nice addition. It’s just trying to decide which one of the many I’ve seen online to go ahead and commit to and order. I had no idea that there would be so many to choose from. I don’t have a lot of time left with Valentine’s day only a few weeks away.

It really does my heart good to see that more people are turning to and relying on good old fashioned rain harvestings during these past few years of drought like conditions that we’ve been dealing with. Many people pay dearly for water services and some folks get theirs from their well, either way it takes money to get our much needed water supply to us that we depend on each and every day, while mother nature provides us water that just takes something like a rain barrel to collect to use.
My father used to always have a rain water barrel that he used for our small garden that we all worked so hard in year after year for our home grown fruits and vegetables that my mother loved cooking with. That made a big impression on us for years to come about rain harvesting.
I’m hearing that there are now more rain water barrels are being sold than ever before. Did you know you can find many rain barrels for sale right online at sites like simplyrainbarrels.com has to offer? They have a very large variety of sizes, colors and shapes as well as various price ranges. What I really like is that simplyrainbarrels.com accepts PayPal, I’ve put an end to my credit cards and rely on my PayPal account more and more for online purchases such as this.

I think that I have come up with a good idea for a gift for the wife as a Christmas present. I know that Christmas is still several months away but I try to pick up things along the way in order not to have to deal with the last minute shopping hassles that seem inevitable each year. Anyway I have found a great website that has some of the most coolest rain chains for sale and as much time that we spend outside in the yard during the “good” weather months I really think that one of their garden rain chains would look real nice out there.
I especially like this copper rain chain that they have for only $71 with free shipping as well.

Well summer is almost officially over and winter will be here before we know it. My wife and I were looking through last winter’s energy bills and started talking about arranging for a home energy audit to see if there was some way we can tighten up the house to reduce are energy costs.
Sure we have read a lot of magazine articles with home energy efficiency tips in them, but I think that if we had our own individual audit done by professional auditors it would be a good idea.
We’re also thinking about getting some home insulation contractors to install waterproof insulation on our basement walls. We’ve been wanting to do that since we moved in here but now we’re thinking about finishing the basement so this would be a good time to check that out. My wife has been getting inspiration from watching a lot of home improvement shows from HGTV.

I have to be honest, I have never been a big fan of the state of New Jersey. I have driven through New Jersey countless times, hard not to do when traveling up and/or down the east coast and I’ve visited a few friends in various parts of “The Garden State” called New Jersey, so I have seen more to it than just looking out the window while traveling on the few Interstates that take you through the state. Not a single time did I see anything that closely justified the nick name “The Garden State” since all that I ever see is the factories and smoke stacks and the pollution and the smells and all the other darkness that comes along with all of that type of industry going on there. And if I remember correctly darkness just isn’t what “Gardens” are all about.
I understand that thebig hit TV show “The Jersey Shore” that MTV is successfully cranking out season after season, has created a new interest in New Jersey and all that it has to offer people, most just like me that haven’t seen the beauty of the state in the past. They have been trying to clean up their reputation and get people to stop their cars and take the time to visit.
I do have a buddy who moved to New Jersey recently and is now trying to find employment, hopefully with Arosa Solar Energy Systems. After receiving his last email telling me that he had an interview lined up with them, I went online and checked out their website which was pretty interesting reading. I didn’t know that some utility companies will buy back from you any of your unused solar generated energy, at their peak rates even, that’s pretty cool. It seems that Arosa Solar is busy with providing solar power to residential and commercial customers that are interested in New Jersey solar energy for a variety of reasons, all good ones. The cash incentives are always welcomed I’m sure which are listed on this web site as well.
I’m really hoping that my bud will be hired, it is right up his alley and would be a good fit. He moved his new wife and baby, their two German Shepherds there with high hopes, a tough move right now in these days of such uncertain economic stress. Crisis after crisis for heaven’s sake, no wonder more people have stopped watching the nightly news. Anyway, next time I think of New Jersey, maybe it will be of New Jersey solar panels and other alternative energy options more and more and less of those daunting smoke stacks. That would be a most welcomed change.
