I have to say that all of the food that we’ve tried so far from the Angel Food Ministries order that we picked up a couple of weekends ago has been very good.  I understand that we have to order again by this weekend to pick up the December supply the next weekend.  We’re going to order the regular box and one of the fruit specials.  We got some fruit from the last shipment and it was really excellent!  Not a single bruise on any of the apples at all!  Now I don’t usually just grab an apple and eat it, but we’ve been slicing them up and putting them on the table at supper time along with some strawberry cream cheese fruit dip and they have been disappearing very quickly!  So I suspect that will happen again with the next batch of fruit!  The amount of food, and the quality of food, makes the Angel Food Ministry food a bargain!  I highly recommend it!

Well, today is Black Friday, the day when all of the people who are trying to save money on their Christmas shopping flock to the stores.  I hate crowds, and the Black Friday frenzy, so I stayed happily at home and dug out the Christmas decorations and decorated the exterior of the house.  I heard on the news this evening that an employee from a New York Wal-Mart was trampled to death this morning by the rushing throng of shoppers stampeding over him!  That is just crazy, and I am sure glad I stayed home instead of braving the crowds!

Today I had to go pick up the food we ordered from the local chapter of the Angle Food Ministry.  We had heard of the Ministry before, and wanted to try it, but there were no local chapters until this month.  We ordered the regular menu items, being afraid to order too much of the extra offerings in case we felt that the food was sub-par.  And we were also not sure what would need to be put in the freezer, and we are limited on freezer space!  So anyway, I picked up the food today, brought it home and put it away.  There is quite a bit of food there!  I sure hope it turns out to be tasty!  I know it is a bargain, and I would like to use it again to save money on our food bill if it turns out to be good!

Tonight we were all feeling too lazy to cook, so we decided to cook up the DiGiorno’s frozen pizza we have had in the freezer for a couple of weeks.  It was the rising crust three meat pizza.  I had my doubts about whether or not I would like it, but I have to tell you that it was really very good.  So good in fact that I’ve put it on the shopping list to buy more.  And chances are pretty good that we’ll be eating that pizza a lot more in the future instead of going to the pizza restaurant that costs double the amount that the frozen pizza cost!

I’ve tried their thin crispy crust pizza and didn’t like it at all, so I’m really glad I like their rising crust pizza!  It’s nice to know I can have a few of them in the freezer for future times we don’t feel like cooking anything complicated!

Today I went out to the store to buy some nice flowers to put on my grandfather’s grave.  He is buried in a nearby cemetery; he was a veteran of the Korean war.  He died in his early 50’s of cancer - a very misterious thing since he was a health nut that never smoked.  We think now that his cancer was caused by his possible exposure to some dangerous chemicals while he was serving in the war.  Be that as it may, I plan to go to the cemetery tomorrow with my grandmother to put some flowers on his grave.  I hope the weather is nice!
