One of our nieces had a baby right before Christmas. A beautiful, healthy baby girl. It’s hard to realize that she’s two months old already! Before you know it we are going to have to worry about baby proofing our house for the many visits we will be getting from them. It just seems like a few days ago that we put away our old baby gates! Funny how life sneaks up on you that way. All of our kids are grown up now, and some are having kids of their own. I’m not sure I’m ready for a newest generation! I don’t feel old enough to be worrying about the newest child safety tips - I was just starting to get used to (and enjoying) knowing that the kids were past that point in life!
Ahh… the circle of life. I think maybe we should just suggest that we go visit them at their house instead, so we don’t have to go all nuts and fortify our house with all the newest safety equipment! Don’t get me wrong, I’d love to see them, but if we go to them, then they are the ones who have to make sure the baby is safe. And, we can decide when the visit is over and leave to come home when the baby is cranky! I think I’ll suggest that to my wife!
While looking for a mobile broadband to sign up for my wife, I came across a blog that was featuring posts about data cards and USB Modems and mobile broadband in India. It looked like a very impressive collection of reviews. Reading those reviews, I became even more frustrated that it appears that there are a lot of good mobile broadband providers overseas, yet I am having trouble finding one over here!
In this great country of ours I fail to understand why we can’t get good service at a reasonable cost. If we are to remain competitive in this global economy, these kinds of services need to be affordable to more people. I can only hope that the prices of these services come down in the near future. These are important tools that we will need to survive.
Recently I decided that I’d like to be able to find a provider of unlimited mobile broadband. At least, that’s what I think it’s called! I’d like for my wife to be able to take her laptop and connect to the Internet anywhere she goes. And I’d like for her to not be charged any extra fees for anything. I see most of the providers restrict you to a certain number of “data” downloads, and that is not what I’m looking for. I want unlimited! Why is that so hard to find? From what I’m seeing, only Alltell has that unlimited plan, and they have been sold to Verizon, so that unlimited plan is probably going to be eliminated pretty quickly, if it hasn’t been already! If I can’t find a plan that we can afford, I’ll just have to tell my wife that she is going to just have to keep looking for free Wifi hotspots around town. I understand that gets real old real fast, but I’m not willing to pay an arm and a leg for Internet on the road!
I can’t imagine how school would have been for us if we had had access to the Internet. The Internet is a valuable tool for today’s educational needs. These days kids are learning and using their parents computers as young as 2 years old for goodness sake, it’s just amazing to me.
Having computers certainly would have helped me back in the day. The only way I managed to graduate was from a lot of help from tutors that my parents managed to find and pay for their assistance. They usually weren’t the kind of people that I would have liked to spend that amount of time with during what I considered my free time after school was over and done with, I can tell you that!
Today’s students can receive help with an Online Tutor, now how cool is that? My niece has been receiving Math help by Tutornext.com since her parents have been having issues with her school work this year. It’s pretty cool to have an Online Math Tutor to turn to. They seem pleased with the assistance that she is receiving so far. The school year is half way over, so if she can just keep on taking advantage of her Math Tutors Online she should make it all right. Next year she will be starting Junior High and that will be a whole new ball game for her. Man time really flies, hard to believe that this one will be starting Junior High all ready.
