I’ve never been a fan of swimming in any kind of swimming pools. My parents both had issues with swimming pools as well so I guess I get it honestly. So when it comes to swimming pool supplies like the liners, chemicals and all the other pool accessories that swimming pools require I’m pretty much at a loss. Our house is just about the only house in the neighborhood that doesn’t have a swimming pool in the back yard. And in a few weeks, come September, most of them will be closing up for the season.
Now give me a lake, a river or even the ocean and I’m good to go. As a kid I was lucky enough to have parents that owned a cottage on the river that we would spend a good amount of the summer enjoying. The days were spent swimming, rafting, boating and water skiing, good times for all. With all of those types of water activities as our disposal there was never a need for a swimming pool. And after Labor Day all the pools would have to close, but our river was always open and ready for just about anything. I miss those days.
