I can remember back in the 1970′s there seemed to be only one brand of diet pills on the market – Dexatrim. My sister tried them back then and found that the pills made her very “jittery.” And what was really strange was that she became addicted to them and needed her doctor’s help to stop taking them! Ever since then I’ve been very leary of any kind of appetite suppressant.
From what I’ve been reading recently, even the best diet pills have a lot of caffeine in them, and caffeine is highly addictive. I think that may be what was in the dexatrim pills that my sister had trouble with! I remember taking one dexatrim a long time ago and I wasn’t hungry for two days! I can see why people would lose weight with something like that! Is that product even still on the market anymore?
