Jerry Loggins Notes

Notes on life, family and friends by Jerry Loggins

Anyone in the event supplies and concession machines business would certainly be interested in reading the information provided by the Infographic below about some of the facts along with the risks involved in setting up and/or attending any type of Rock Festival. It’s been a long time since I’ve attended any type of outside musical performance/event. They have become way too loud and way too crowed for me to enjoy since I’ve become middle-aged. But I’ve got some pretty good memories that I can look back on and enjoy and plenty of record albums, cassettes and CDs to keep me in music for a very long time.

This has been a long week. I have really been looking forward to Sunday night. Not because I have any big plans for this Sunday night. It just means that the rest of this crappy week is OVER. Tonight I am going into recluse. I bought a thick T-bone steak at the grocery store on the way home from work and that baby will be on the grill very shortly. Of course I will make a nice big green salad to go along with the steak, got to have my greens to help with my health issues that my doctor has been speaking to me about. I’ve lost some weight but now I have to keep up with the good eating habits and not go back to my old ways.

I have no idea if there’s anything on TV worth watching, but I have a handful of movies that I got for Christmas plus a few that I’ve bought over the past couple of weeks with some of the gift cards that I was given as well. So I can pop one or two of them into the DVD player and just sit back and chill tonight and reflect on the previous week and contemplate the next one.

Live to Eat or Eat to Live?

Food is fuel for our body. Some people make healthy choices on a daily basis and fill their bodies with nutritious food. These people belong to the Eat to Live group. Food is important to them but only as a method to keep their bodies going. They need food to stay alive so they can focus on other things that are more important to them.

On the other hand, there are members of the Live to Eat group. These people indulge in food for a number of reasons. Comfort is probably up in the top list of reasons why people chose to live to eat. High calorie food, often with little nutritional value has become a go to for this group. Poor diet choices and unhealthy lifestyles can lead to obesity.

I would say that I’m a member of the eat to live group. I do chose to indulge in a treat here or there but that is not the main focus of my life. Moderation is the key to my success. I haven’t been able to give up all of those unhealthy, carb-loaded, fattening treats, but when I do indulge it’s just a small amount. I suppose you can say it’s a best of both worlds way of looking at things.

One question that my wife always asks me when we talk on the phone is what I want for dinner. I guess this is an age-old question that has always had to be answered. My usual response is that I really don’t care. But it always seems that she picks the wrong thing.

My wife decided on Chinese food the other night. While I do like Chinese food, I just wasn’t in the mood for it. I guess I shouldn’t complain though as I had my chance to pick what it was I wanted. This is a case of live and learn.

Hot Dogs Fancied Up

Recently I started going to the Sonic drive-through restaurant. I like how the waiters bring your food out to you on roller skates! It reminds me of the Hi-Hat restaurant from my childhood where my parents would take us. There would be a speaker at the parking spot that we would talk into to place our order, and the food would be brought out by someone on roller skates. I always thought that was “cool.” At the Sonic drive in you an order hot dogs fixed some new ways. They have a lot of different styles of hot dogs. I really like the chili dogs with chopped fresh onions, but I think I will try a different type of hot dog each week.
