Jerry Loggins Notes

Notes on life, family and friends by Jerry Loggins

This has been a long week. I have really been looking forward to Sunday night. Not because I have any big plans for this Sunday night. It just means that the rest of this crappy week is OVER. Tonight I am going into recluse. I bought a thick T-bone steak at the grocery store on the way home from work and that baby will be on the grill very shortly. Of course I will make a nice big green salad to go along with the steak, got to have my greens to help with my health issues that my doctor has been speaking to me about. I’ve lost some weight but now I have to keep up with the good eating habits and not go back to my old ways.

I have no idea if there’s anything on TV worth watching, but I have a handful of movies that I got for Christmas plus a few that I’ve bought over the past couple of weeks with some of the gift cards that I was given as well. So I can pop one or two of them into the DVD player and just sit back and chill tonight and reflect on the previous week and contemplate the next one.

Mesothelioma, A Growing Concern

I’ve never known anyone who has been inflicted with the Mesothelioma Disease that we are hearing, reading and seeing so much about these past of years. I do know that there seems to be a large amount of these Mesothelioma Lawyer Groups that are advertising that this is one of their specialties and are there to help folks who find themselves dealing with Mesothelioma Attorney issues.

I do know of one guy that I worked with several years back that told of a friend of his whose uncle who thought he might have this type of cancer. Seems that he was in the Navy and spent a good amount of time on a submarine and that these guys (females aren’t allowed on submarines) are coming up with this type of cancer more and more these past few years. That is bad news for guys that did so much for their/our country, much like the soldiers that were exposed to Agent Orange back in the Vietnam days. Chemicals are definitely one of the worst man-made silent killers that man has come up with to do to himself.

My sister is very excited about her up and coming appointment at Sono Bello next week. She has been wanted to have some Laser Liposuction done for some time now. For Christmas, last year, her husband gave her a gift certificate to have the work done for her, so now she has no excuse for putting it off. The look on her face when she opened the card up Christmas afternoon was priceless. She didn’t know if she should be upset or happy, you could see her little brain working up a storm, we could even smell a bit of smoke going on in there!  LOL

Wine Experts

I have to confess that I am not a wine expert.  I don’t know the first thing about Wine Pairing; knowing which wine to drink with what food.  All I recall is that red is with red meat and white wine is with white meat. But there has been a lot of talk recently about how one glass of the red wine is supposed to be good for your health and it would be a nice way to do something good for this old body each evening.

To be honest, there have been many times when I have gone to a restaurant and ordered a glass of wine, taking the suggestion of the waiter and been really sorry about that!  I recently found a great website called Supplewine.com that has some interesting and enlightening wine reviews on it, and gives a lot of hints and tips about what food goes with what wine.  I’ve bookmarked the site and I’m sure I’ll be using it a lot!
